Dr Fortune Gomo
Fortune Faith Gomo is a Hydro Nation PhD scholar with the University of Dundee and the James Hutton Institute. Her PhD is on developing and demonstrating how a systems based integrative approach, can be used as the basis to integrate across key commercial and policy sectors of the water-food-energy nexus under a changing climate and population growth in catchments in sub-Saharan Africa. This will support better decision making by policy makers, businesses and land managers, based on understanding the inter-linkages and interactions across the water, energy and food nexus. The research will be based on the Zambezi River Basin.
Prior to this PhD, Fortune was involved in the research project Hydropower-to-environment-water-transfers in the Zambezi basin (Power2Flow) with UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Science from the National University of Science and Technology, Zimbabwe, and an MSc in Water Management (specialization Water Resources Management from UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, The Netherlands.
